Jasmine Marshall is running to be your Ward 6 councillor in Kawartha Lakes.
Jasmine Marshall has called Kawartha Lakes home for most of her life. She grew up in Omemee, went to school in Downeyville, and returned after graduating university to build her career in the community that gave her so much.
Today, Jasmine works in real estate across the Kawarthas and volunteers with the Canadian Red Cross. Her work has reinforced something she's always believed: strong communities are built by people who show up for one another.
It's that love for Kawartha Lakes — and that belief in showing up for people — that led Jasmine to run for council.
She isn't running because she has a political career to build. She's running because the people who actually live here year-round — in Omemee, on the water, out on the concessions — deserve a councillor who would be a strong, local voice for our community.

Priorities for Kawartha Lakes
Keeping Taxes Low
The city's own plan has taxes going up 7% a year for the next decade. That's more than double the rate of inflation and hundreds of dollars more out of your family's pocket.
Jasmine will vote against any tax increase above the rate of inflation and will push for a line-by-line review of what Ward 6 actually receives for its share of the budget.
A public transit option
There is no public transit connecting our villages and hamlets to Lindsay or Peterborough. Seniors can't get to their appointments. Young people can't get to university or college without a car.
Jasmine will advocate for a public transportation option connecting Omemee to Lindsay and Peterborough — because your ability to get around shouldn't depend purely on whether you own a car.
Keeping our roads maintained
Poorly maintained concession roads. Intersections residents have been flagging for years. These aren't just infrastructure problems — they're your street, your kids' school route, your daily drive.
Jasmine will fight for targeted road safety improvements across Ward 6, and accountability when fixes keep getting deferred year after year.
Better Healthcare Access
Finding a family doctor shouldn't mean driving hours or spending years on a waitlist. Too many residents across Kawartha Lakes are struggling to access the basic healthcare they need close to home.
Jasmine will support stronger physician recruitment efforts and incentives to bring more family doctors to our hamlets and rural communities.
Cutting red tape
Small businesses, farmers, and entrepreneurs shouldn't have to fight through unnecessary paperwork and delays just to invest in our community. When it becomes too difficult to get things done, opportunities and investment go somewhere else.
Jasmine will push to cut unnecessary red tape and make it easier to start, grow, and invest in a business in Kawartha Lakes — helping create local jobs and strengthen our local economy.
Agriculture isn't just part of Ward 6's history — it's an important part of our way of life. Our farmers need a City that understands the realities of operating a farm and considers their needs when making decisions.
Jasmine will stand up for our agricultural community, seek advice from the agricultural committee, and make sure farmers have a strong voice at City Hall so farming remains part of Ward 6 for generations to come.
